Bienvenue to Petit Soleil's blog.....a place for us to tell our guests past and future about happenings at Petit, in San Luis Obispo and around the Central Coast.

SO, Cole was the MOST beautiful bride! She and Steve (Shipley) got married at the Dana-Powers home in Nipomo. If you haven't been there, wow! It is the quintessential shabby chic farmhouse with beautiful gardens and flowers, antiques, pea grave pathways (don't you love the crunch sound pea gravel makes???)and is surrounded by the most fragrant orange groves. Cole and her entourage looked as if they stepped out of an Anthropologie catalog and Steve was just handsome and elegant. Watch for Cole to post pictures.....and if any of our guests are planning on getting married in the future, check out the Dana-Powers home and barn!

Petit had a happy summer and we are transitioning into Fall, aka college time! In a couple of weeks the streets of SLO will be again alive with students - newbees all the way to the weathered fouth and fifth year students. The buzzz around town becomes exciting again and the stores stock all the trendy clothes, shoes and bags for the college kids and their super cool moms to indulge in. SLO has many non-chain stores to check out: TherApy (love the name! "I have to go to TherApy today"), Contessa S, Ambiance just to name a few.......shop on! It is good for the economy.

So, beyond the obvious local news, we are going to be blogging on some delish recipes, new favorite wines and what we like to pair with them, dates for antique shows and wine festivals and foodie events (all of my fave things) and we will talk a little about out employees, new and not new (as they are all young) and little fun tidbits that you might want to learn about. We also invite all our guests to add whatever you might thing would be fun!
